Behold the bizarre geological formations and cathedral-like vault in the Canelobre Caves and then discover the charms of Busot by joining in a scavenger hunt known as a gymkhana. After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a leisurely drive inland, following a circuitous route through the arid countryside and on to the Canelobre Caves. The Arabs supposedly discovered the caves in the 10th century, but they weren't explored until 1,000 years later. As you meander the caves' winding paths, you will see eerily illuminated stalactites and stalagmites in shapes as whimsical as a jellyfish and as common as waterfalls. The most dramatic stalagmite is the namesake Canelobre, a chandelier-like column that rises more than 80 feet from the cavern floor.
You will next visit Busot, a lovely village surrounded by mountains. As a fun alternative to a traditional walking tour, you will instead discover the attractions of Busot by participating in a gymkhana, an interactive game much like a scavenger hunt. Off you will go with a map of the city in hand. At each destination, you will answer a question that you could only know by visiting the site. It will be great fun as you race between attractions such as the Museum of Ethnic Music and the Saint Lawrence Martyr Parish. Finish in first place, and you will receive a prize that recognizes your sense of adventure and brilliant sleuthing.
