This leisurely-paced walking tour begins along the scenic ocean path of Bar Harbor. Your engaging and friendly guide will greet you and take you to four Maine owned and operated venues featuring locally sourced foods from the land and sea. Your tastes through town will include such delights as; lobster and brie paninis, Maine potato French fries, fresh mussels picked off the coast of our shores, a Maine craft beer, and a sweet ending featuring Maine blueberry or Maine maple syrup, all local favorites sure to please every palette.
Along this tour, guests will learn about the culinary scene as well as the myriad of hard working culinary artisans, from potato harvesters, blueberry growers and restauranteurs to bakers, brewers, and more. The secret lives of lobsters and the lively work of Maine's lobstermen and women are showcased as well as their sustainable practices. A dose of local history will also be provided as we traverse the back streets of Bar Harbor, explaining the great fire, the former lifestyle of the "Roosevelt" era, and what MDI and the town have experienced over the centuries.
