This educational excursion takes you into the beautiful protected wetland hammocks within the heart of the Central Florida Everglades. Your journey starts with your guide's narrative en route to Lone Cabbage, a 100 year old outpost and turn-of-the-century fish camp located in the middle of the back country. Board your 15-passenger airboat for a guided adventure traveling at speeds of almost 40 mph.
You'll travel into pristine sections of fresh water marshes and up river, into the Bald Cypress Swamp, home of the Florida alligator, American bald eagle and other wildlife. Certified eco-guides will ensure that you come away with an understanding of Florida's vastly different land and plant communities and the importance of their preservation. You'll see alligators, birds, reptiles and learn about unique swamp life up-close. Afterwards, you will sample alligator tail and enjoy a soft drink.
