Combine a scenic helicopter flight, a wilderness hike in the Tongass National Forest and a ride aboard the historic narrow-gauge White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. It's a perfect mix of breathtaking scenery, great transportation and exercise. Board a helicopter for your flight with views of glacially carved valleys and stunning scenery before landing at Glacier Station. Set out on a 3 to 5 mile hike along the remote upper Skagway River and through pristine old-growth and temperate rainforest on your way to see the magnificent Laughton Glacier.
Your guide will share information about the region's unique natural history, plants and animals throughout the hike and allow plenty of time for photography. Bears, mountain goats, moose and other wildlife call Laughton Valley home. Return to Glacier Station and board the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad for the 14 mile scenic ride back to Skagway, while enjoying a snack and beverage en route. Your guide will provide an overview of the train and its history. Flight pattern varies based on current weather conditions.
