This scenic rail tour runs in a complete circle around the island allowing visitors the opportunity to see the entire country by rail and by road. No trip to this two-island federation is complete without the experience of traveling on the new St. Kitts Scenic Railway, one of the most interesting train rides in the world. This one-of-a-kind narrow gauge railroad was built almost a century ago to deliver sugar cane from the fields to the sugar mills in the capital city of Basseterre. This still operational railway now provides a fascinating way to see the island from the comfort of double-deck railcars built specifically for touring the island of St. Kitts. All guests will have a seat on both levels of the railcar. The upper level features a spacious open-air observation deck with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
The lower level provides air conditioned comfort with expansive vaulted windows. Island ambiance is evoked with comfortable rattan furniture, complimentary specialty drinks, island music and a colorful narrative. The railway hugs the northeastern coastline with fields of sugarcane from the shoreline up to the mountains. The volcanic mountain ranges rise nearly 4,000 feet above sea level coated with lush green rainforests. The train rolls across tall steel bridges spanning deep canyons, and winds through small villages and farms. Your conductor will point out old sugar estates, sugar mills and windmills while giving insight in to the island’s unique history. Your experience is complimented by a scenic drive along the southern coast. Enjoy excellent vistas of Brimstone fortress, the British "Gibraltar of the Caribbean", Middle Island where an ancestor of U.S. President Thomas Jefferson’s is buried and the neighboring island of Nevis. A truly unique experience!

Wade out to a rock shelf off Tatapouri and watch the abundant marine life such as stingrays, fish and octopuses swimming around the reef.
After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a scenic coastal drive past the surfing mecca of Wainui Beach and up the Pacific Coast Highway to Tatapouri. After an enlightening orientation and then donning wading gear, you will walk with your guide out to a rocky reef shelf. Marine life is abundant here, and chances are you will see Down Under’s most iconic sea creatures.
Your guide will bring food along to entice the stingrays and as a result, the water is usually teeming with short-tail rays, which look particularly graceful as they glide along the shallow reef. Eagle rays are also common and can easily be distinguished from stingrays by their long, whip-like tails. Both species feed on fish, so you can also expect to see yellowtail kingfish, which in turn feed on trevally.
These beautiful silvery and blue-green fish are highly sought by fishermen, as they are strong fighters. Trevally are also known as “blurters” for the odd grunt they make when caught. The Maori call the trevally by various other names including the arara.
Note: Guests must be able to walk out to the reef shelf through water. The reef itself is rocky and there will be over 30 minutes of standing on it so all guests must be capable of standing for that length of time. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with walking difficulties. Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing that can get wet; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; low-heeled footwear that you don’t’ mind getting wet; and an additional pair of shoes are recommended. Waders, with boots attached, are provided for all participants; however size 14 USD is the largest available. The minimum age to participate is 5 years old and the local operator may restrict participation to those over 75 years of age. Reef activity is weather and tide dependent. less

Enjoy hours of free time in Huis Ten Bosch, a meticulously manicured theme park that is a re-creation of a quaint Dutch town. Named for the royal palace in the Hague, Huis Ten Bosch is a sincere homage to the Dutch, who opened a Dutch East India Company trading office nearby in the 17th century. While wandering about the canals, you may see a replica of the palace, clusters of windmills, fields of colorful tulips and every other imaginable Dutch icon. As you might expect, large areas of the park are devoted to shopping, entertainment and restaurants. More unusual aspects include the horror-themed Thriller City, where you might ramble through a digital haunted mansion. There is truly something for everyone, including a carousel, porcelain museum, robot kingdom and virtual-reality fishing. Perhaps the best place to start your adventure is atop the Domtoren observation platform, which offers a sweeping view of this wonderfully bizarre theme park.

OVERVIEW
Explore one of Peru’s most treasured bio-reserves, the beautiful coastal desert and mountains of Paracas National Reserve. Established back in the ‘70s to protect a rare and impressive ecosystem where beautiful subtropical desert fringes the Pacific and the rich marine environment created by the upwelling Humboldt Current, the reserve is a vast geo-biological wonderland. Stunning beaches – completely devoid of any green vegetation – line the coast. Arid, sculpted mountains shift their colors with the sun. And rugged sea-cliffs take on impressive forms like the famous “Cathedral," a rock arc whose walls form the preferred nesting site of raucous seabirds, and the “Monk,” a brooding stone pillar parked on a small rocky outcrop at the water’s edge. A wide array of marine life finds the feeding and breeding good here – including seals and sea lions, Humboldt penguins, sea otters, dolphins and porpoises. Over a hundred varieties of resident and migratory birds can be observed here, from flamingos to blue-footed boobies to the enormous Andean condor, weighing in at up to 33 pounds. Even the pre-Incas were drawn to this place; their excavated burial sites were discovered here in 1925 and can be seen at reserve’s small archaeological museum.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Travel from the pier to tour one of Peru’s most scenic and vital coastal conservation areas.
• Marvel at the stark beaches, sculpted sea cliffs and multicolored desert mountains of Paracas National Reserve.
• See signature formations like the Cathedral and the Monk, and the colonies of birds who love them.
• Spot seals, otters, sea lions and penguins who frequent the rich waters along this coast.
HELPFUL HINTS
• Wear casual, weather-appropriate clothing.
• Flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
• Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen as needed.

This tour combines the main sights of Helsinki and a visit to the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum. Drive by the colorful open-air market and stop at Senate Square with the elegant Lutheran Cathedral for a photo opportunity. Continue past the Uspenski Cathedral and see the icebreakers docked for the summer season. Then, it’s on to Mannerheim Street, the main thoroughfare and home to Parliament House, the National Museum and Finlandia Hall. Also pass the new Contemporary Art museum, Kiasma, the Olympic Stadium, venue for the Olympic Games of 1952, and the Opera House. Continue to the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum, located on a beautiful green island just a few miles from the heart of Helsinki.
The island is a tranquil oasis in the midst of the city and here, the traditional Finnish way of life is portrayed in the cottages, farmsteads and manors of the past four centuries that have been relocated from around different provinces of Finland. The oldest building on the island is a 1686 wooden church from Karuna, near Turku. The guided walking tour is a fast way of getting to know traditional Finnish life and architecture while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. You’ll be treated to coffee and a traditional pastry in this country setting. Then it’s on to the unique Temppeliaukio Rock Church, blasted out of solid rock. At the end of the tour, should time allow, you can get off in the downtown area to explore the city on your own or return by your bus to the cruise pier. Should you decide to remain in the city, you’ll be responsible for your own return to the cruise pier.
Note: Order of sights might vary. Guides are not allowed to escort large groups through churches while a service is in progress. In this instance the guide will describe the church from the outside. We cannot guarantee entry if services are being held. Due to new traffic restriction, buses will no longer be allowed to drive nearby the rock church; therefore, there will be a 20 minute walk to and from the church (1600 feet approximately). This half-day tour highlights some of the most notable sites in and around Port Luis and gives you ample time to explore on your own.
Boarding your coach, it's a short transfer to Pamplemousses Village, considered a must-see for visitors. Here, you will have a brief stop at the historical church St François d'Assise, which was built in 1756. Following this, you will enjoy a delightful guided visit of the Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens, which were created by French naturalist Pierre Poivre in 1767. The Chateau de Mon Plaisir, built in 1735, can still be seen here. Often called the ""Jewel in the Crown"", the garden is renowned by world botanists for its 500 rare plant species that come from all over the world. The most famous are the giant Victoria Regina water lilies and the 80 varieties of palm trees, including the talipot, said to flower once every 60 years and then die. Today, the garden also houses the ""samadhi"" (funeral shrine) of the Father of the Nation, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam.
From Pamplemousses, you will head for a tour of the capital, Port-Louis, which was founded in 1735 by Mahé de Labourdonnais. A photo stop at La Citadelle, an old fortress built in 1834, will give you a wonderful panoramic view of the Champ de Mars, the second oldest race-course in the world, as well as allowing you to fully appreciate the blend of modern and ancient buildings that are all squeezed between the harbor and the mountain range. Off the main square, palm-lined Place d'Armes, showcases some particularly fine colonial buildings, like the Government House (1735) and the Municipal Theater (1822), as well as two Cathedrals, Catholic and Anglican, a Mosque, the Supreme Court and the Natural History Museum.
Your tour also includes a visit to Le Caudan Waterfront, a modern precinct not only known for its designer shops and duty free jewelry, but also for its cosmopolitan craft market, covering two floors of spices, souvenirs, basketry and craftsmen at work. You will have approximately 2 hours of free time here to explore this area at your leisure. From here, it is also possible to visit the ""l'Astrolab"" with its shops and restaurants. To enjoy a fascinating cross-section of Mauritian life, you may also want to visit the covered market of Port-Louis.
Re-joining your coach, you will make the short transfer back to the pier where your tour concludes.
Note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking, mainly at the guests' discretion during free time. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them.
