Board your air-conditioned bus and enjoy a scenic drive through Belize. Your professional guide will give you the history of Belize’s rich cultural fusion of British, Scottish, Spanish and Mayan heritage as you approach the home of the world famous One Barrel Rum - the Belize Traveller’s Rum Museum. Here you’ll be given the highlights on the history of rum, rum making and have a taste of its many tempting Belizean flavors.
Belize has had a long relationship with rum dating back to the time of the buccaneers and even rumrunners in the early 1920s. Enjoy a rum tasting as you move to the Aging Room where spirits are aged, blended and stored. See a local cultural show that includes a native Garifuna band playing and dancing to their drums. After the sampling and show, keep the cocktails flowing at the full service bar whose counter is said to be part of the remains of an old rumrunner ship. Don’t forget to purchase any of over 20 different rum brands at factory prices, as well as “Traveller’s” memorabilia in the museum gift shop.
Need to Know:
Note: Participants must be at least 18 years of age. All guests must wear provided hard hats in the aging room per Traveller’s company safety regulations. A signed waiver is required to participate. Bring cash for purchases.
