    Mysteries Of The Bermuda Triangle

    OVERVIEW

    Learn about the mysterious Bermuda Triangle – where dozens of ships and airplanes have supposedly vanished without explanation – and browse a museum that sheds some light on those enigmas. Bermuda is the northern tip of the triangle, whose other points are Miami and Puerto Rico, and the waters in between are legendary for their unnatural occurrences. You will gaze out over the sea from Fort Scaur, a late 19th-century fortress that offers an extraordinary 360° view of Bermuda. The Unlock the Secrets exhibit at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute may unravel some of the most puzzling aspects of the Bermuda Triangle. Another exhibit will allow you to investigate some of the triangle’s strange phenomena on a simulated dive to an airplane graveyard at the bottom of the sea. A driving tour through Hamilton will reveal the official northern point of the Bermuda Triangle, after which you will pause for photos of one of the island’s most beautiful pink beaches.

    Bermuda Dolphin Encounter

    A combination of both shallow water and deep-water interaction, your swim experience will start with an introduction to these amazing mammals followed by a 20 minute hands on interaction and swim with the dolphins. Learn about conservation and the value of your participation during the shallow water portion of your experience, where you are seated waist-high on a submerged platform and the dolphins rest on your lap. Enjoy the excitement of swimming or floating in the deeper water where your interactions continue with opportunities to observe them underwater as they swim underwater as they swim under and around you in their ocean lagoon habitat. Guests will be provided with the required flotation vests, complimentary lockers, outdoor showers and post program changing rooms. An onsite photographer will take photos available for the same day viewing and purchase to ensure you can share your memories. Tour price also includes admission to the National Museum of Bermuda’s fort, maritime and cultural exhibits, which you can browse and explore in addition to your dolphin experience

    Note: All experiences are led by Marine Mammal Specialists committed to the dolphins’ best welfare and to ensure guest enjoyment is provided in a safe environment. Guest check in time is 30 minutes prior to program start time as listed on tour ticket. Guests should come dressed in swim gear and must bring own towels. Swim masks/goggles, water-shoes and change of clothes are recommended. Participants must wear a lifejacket for the entire duration of the program. Swimming is done on the surface of the water; there is no diving. No valuables such as loose jewelry, cameras or phones are permitted on the docks or during the program to ensure dolphin safety – complimentary lockers are provided for safe-keeping. Ocean safe sunscreen or rash guards are recommended. Minimum age is 6 years. A parent or legal guardian must remain onsite near the dolphin lagoon when a child between 6 -18 years old is participating in an interactive program. After an orientation and observed test ride by your guide, you will be ready for your electric-enhanced bicycle riding experience that will boost your pedal power, getting you up and over hilly terrain with ease. To ensure that you have everything you could possibly need, you will first stop at a mini-mart to stock up on your favorite snacks and drinks. It won’t take long to reach Chaplin Bay, giving you all the more time to enjoy its secluded beach, a beautiful setting tucked along Bermuda’s southern shore. The sand is soft pink, the water brilliant blue and the sea is typically calm as the beach is sheltered by the large boulders that bookend it. Feel free to pull up a beach chair and bask in the sun or, if you prefer the shade, umbrellas are available.     Crystal Clear Kayak

    OVERVIEW

    Observe the wonders underwater through the transparent bottom of your kayak while paddling through the sheltered waters off Ely’s Harbour in the West End. After a brief orientation to ensure that you maximize the experience, you will ease into a two-person kayak and paddle off into the harbor’s typically calm and clear waters. You will glide past shores lined with environmentally friendly mangroves, pause to admire the dramatically eroded cliff known Cathedral Rock and gaze out over Wreck Hill, where the Sea Venture supposedly wrecked in 1609 stranding its English crew and passengers. You may also paddle around the beach-rimmed islands that dot the natural harbor and stop to swim. Even so, the most unusual part of this adventure is watching the marine life through the kayak’s clear bottom. You may see brightly colored blue angelfish, striped sergeant majors, princess parrotfish and spotted eagle rays, all of which are native to Bermuda.
