Stop to visit Gina's Tropical Gardens, which features an abundance of native and tropical plants, flowers and fruits. Included are specimens found in the bird of paradise family, along with ginger, axoria, heliconia, ylang ylang, papaya, guava, star fruit, pineapple, and mango. A scenic drive along the north eastern coast of Upolu, introduces you to the scenic beauty of the island. Stop at Falefa Village for a photo opportunity of its cathedral. Drive through Le Mafa Pass, with breathtaking views of the northern shoreline, lush green forests and traditional Samoan villages.

The return to Apia takes you through the south western part of the island. Time and weather permitting you’ll stop briefly at Papapapaitai Falls, which cascade into an old volcanic crater. As you descend towards Apia, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic coastal views.

Depart the pier for a sightseeing drive through Apia, stopping first at the Mulivai Cathedral with it’s impressive marriage of local and international architectural designs that include a wonderful wooden ceiling and beautiful stained glass windows. Next, a stop will be made at the Samoa Cultural Village. Here, you will be treated to a display of local activities such as, a welcome Kava Ceremony, fire making (by rubbing sticks together), Siapo (tapa making – a traditional art form made from the bark of the Mulberry tree & using natural dyes made from the sap of the “o’a” tree & river rocks), basket weaving, printing of traditional designs on “lavalavas” (sarong) to name a few. There is an opportunity to purchase these handicraft or souvenirs made by the village women. Continuing on, you'll see Mulinu'u, the sacred burial grounds of Samoan royalty, the Independence Monuments, Parliament House, the Lands and Titles Court, and the German Monument, where the German flag was raised during its occupation of Samoa. Your last stop is at Vailima, the former home of Robert Louis Stevenson, which has been converted into a museum. During your guided tour of this tropical haven, you will explore the well-maintained grounds highlighted by local indigenous plants and flowers. A refreshment of seasonal fresh fruit, water and juice is served on the museum's patio before rejoining your coach for the brief return drive to the pier.

Visit the homestead of Aggie Grey, a famous self-made Samoan woman that started her Hotel business in the 1940s. Her humble beginnings and interesting story is one that credits her survival instincts and business sense. You’ll be hosted by a family member who will give an account of how this amazing entrepreneur started. An opportunity to walk through the organic gardens, plantations and resting place of Aggie and her sisters is of added interest. You’ll also visit Vailima, famous for being Robert Louis Stevenson’s former home as this is where the novelist lived the final 4 years of his life. Today, it houses a museum and during your visit you will learn about the history of the home and its former residents.

During your tour, you’ll stop at a fresh produce market, where farmers sell fresh fruits, vegetables, taro, bananas, kava, and traditional handicrafts.
