However, we opted to take the excursion on this: Embarkation Scenic Cruisetrain - Anchorage Airport to Seward Cruise Ship Terminal. They have cautions though - I don't know when your flight arrives - Participants flying-in day of sailing should book flights arriving into Anchorage no later than 11am in order to provide sufficient time for baggage claim, train check-in and possible flight delays. For participants already in Anchorage, please meet at the airport rail depot located at the Ted Stevens International Airport no later than 12 noon for train check-in. We are flying in the day before in order to make the timing work.

Yes you can buy more time. When you log into My NCL in your cruise reservation in the explore and plan section you can buy extra internet options. The speed is very slow with the minute plan though, only enough to check your emails.
