Enjoy a highly informative, behind-the-scenes look at how the island of Mallorca recycles and manages its waste. The setting will be the Environmental Technology Park, a cutting-edge facility with the ambitious goal of helping Mallorca reduce its waste to zero in the future. Your immersion into waste management will begin in the boardroom, where you will watch an introductory video that explains the facility’s objectives and advanced processes. You will learn how waste is recovered and transformed into usable materials such as toys, which are displayed in an on-site museum. An electric train will transport you through other areas of the technology park, parts of which have been built with recycled products. Plastic is processed is one area, wastewater slug in another and organic material in yet another part of the facility. You can expect the experience to be educational, eye-opening, and inspirational.

Cruise off the western coast of La Palma to an area teeming with dolphins as well as whales. After driving across the island’s interior, you will head out on the Flipper, an open-air double-decker boat that offers uninterrupted views of Atlantic Ocean. More than two dozen species of cetaceans inhabit these waters at different times of the year, so the chance of spotting a variety of these carnivorous aquatic mammals is excellent. The onboard marine biologist with point out and describe the various species as they breach the water’s surface. You may observe easy-to-identify common cetaceans such as the resident bottlenose dolphins and lesser-known, rarer species that may include Gervais’s beaked whales. It all depends on the day. Become familiar with the agricultural practices of Ecofinca Nogales, an organic farm that grows fruits and vegetables using sustainable methods that respect the environment. While touring the family-operated farm, you will see firsthand how the produce is grown without chemicals that may damage the quality of the soil. Compost tea, livestock manure and plant debris are used as an organic fertilizer that over time improve the fertility of the land. The farm has also optimized its irrigation system to reduce water consumption and meticulously recorded its carbon footprint to see how it might be lessened. As a result, everything grown at Ecofinca Nogales is certified to be ecologically responsible and sustainable. The variety and distinct flavors of the produce may surprise you. During the tasting that follows the guided tour, you may sample Pinkerton avocados, Red Lady papayas and aubergines.

Appreciate how the landscape could be rough, beautiful, surprising, and spectacular, while reaching a viewpoint over the most recent volcano of the Island: Tajogaite, It was formed by an 85 days long eruption process that affected the island in 2021. The new volcano has created a new strip of land changing completely the landscape in the Aridane Valley. Then we will head to the MERCADO EL OLIVAR, where you will see a cornucopia of fresh fruits and vegetables from the orchard, artisan Mallorcan cheeses and succulent seafood. As the city's main market, it is always full of people shopping. As you wander around at your leisure, you will get an insight into Palma's gastronomy. Most of the stalls have been in the market for decades, and you are likely to see every kind of local delicacy imaginable, from the most traditional to the most exotic. Many of the vendors have their own boats, guaranteeing the freshest seafood. Local farmers supply the produce, and artisans make most of the sausages and cheeses. The Olive Grove Market is an extraordinary destination to observe daily life as locals engage in lively conversation and friendly bargaining with vendors. After this revealing introduction to the market, you will head to the a local restaurant to sample a selection of dishes representative of Mallorcan cuisine.
