OVERVIEW

Settle in for an immensely scenic drive across Magerøy Island to the North Cape with stops along the way for photos and a taste of king crab. The sights will be absolutely breathtaking as you travel north across the barren but beautiful subarctic landscape. Keep an eye out for reindeer as thousands of them graze on the island during the summer. Upon reaching the North Cape headland, you will pause at The Globe, a spherical sculpture made of steel rings that depict the lines of latitude and longitude. The sculpture, which has become a symbol of the North Cape, perches above a sheer cliff more than 1,000 feet above the spot where the Norwegian Sea meets the Barents Sea. A shop, café, chapel and post office are in the nearby North Cape Hall. A special treat awaits you in the village of Sarnes, where you will be served king crab, a massive and tasty crustacean.
