Go Green-The Sustainable Vines

Taste the difference in wines produced through sustainable, low-impact agricultural methods at Terlingham Vineyard. While walking about the farm's small four-acre vineyard, you will gain an understanding of how the owners-a family of five-grow the grapes without using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides. Absolutely everything from pruning the vines to harvesting the grapes is done by hand. If issues arise, natural remedies are applied. Whenever possible, fermentation is achieved using wild yeasts that grow naturally on the grapes. To attract wildlife, indigenous flowers and grasses are allowed to grow beneath the vines. You will also hear about the winery's recycling of glass and corks and how labelling and packaging waste has been reduced. Once you settle in at the wine-tasting gazebo, you will sample a selection of sparkling and still wines, the latter being free of the carbon dioxide that adds bubbles.
