Discover the traditional ways being practiced in the fishing village Pedregalejo, where you will see how an old-style fishing boat is made and learn how to grill sardines on an open fire. The origin of the wooden boats, known as jábegas, dates to the Phoenician era. They have recently experienced a rebirth of sorts with rowing clubs using them in competitive events. Pedregalejo is also revered for its old-style beachfront restaurants known as chiringuitos. At one of the most popular chiringuitos, you will learn how to prepare espeto, which is barbecued fish, most often sardines. The fish are heavily seasoned with coarse sea salt and skewered on long flat bamboo sticks. They are then placed over an open fire of olive wood, which imparts an unmistakable flavor. If sardines are used, their silvery color will turn golden brown as they cook. Once the sardines are done, you can eat them with your fingers right off the skewer.

Meet a Nordic designer and discover how she upcycles discarded waste materials to create green fashions. The venue for this enlightening experience will be the Telliskivi Creative City, a former industrial complex that has been converted into the largest creative center in Estonia. Of all the studios and galleries, the one that Reet Aus owns may be the most inspiring. She is committed to ending the fashion industry’s throwaway culture by creating clothing with excess textiles that would otherwise end up in a landfill. By upcycling or turning old garments into higher-quality sustainable ones, she helps to reduce Estonia’s carbon footprint. You will find a similar environmentally conscious atmosphere at the photography museum Fotografiska. After browsing the exhibits, you will enjoy lunch at a zero-waste restaurant, where the dishes are as creative as the photography. Views of Tallinn’s World Heritage site, Old Town, will enhance the dining experience.

• See stylish high-quality clothing made with materials once earmarked for the landfill.
• Browse a photography museum and dine in its zero-waste restaurant.
HELPFUL HINTS
• Dress in weather-appropriate clothing.

Begin with a short transfer to the cable car station for the scenic ride to the top of the Rock; it's only a short ride, but the panorama opening out before you is sufficiently breathtaking to make you forget you are suspended in mid-air. Enjoy scenic views of Catalan Bay, before striding along a wooded path to St. Michael's Cave to admire what was a source of wonderment even in Roman times. Neolithic inhabitants are known to have lived here much earlier.
From here, you will proceed towards the home of Gibraltar's most respected residents, the "Barbary Apes", where you will have an opportunity to photograph these playful macaques. Continue on to Princess Caroline's Battery and the entrance to the Upper Galleries. This labyrinth of tunnels inside the Rock includes the Great Siege Tunnels. They represent arguably the most impressive defensive system devised by man. Excavated during the Great Siege of 1779-83, they allowed the mounting of gun emplacements along the north face of the rock towards enemy positions.
Your tour concludes with a transfer back to the pier, passing the Tower of Homage of the Moorish Castle, the duty-free shopping area and Main Street. A stop will be made for those guests who wish to remain in town for shopping or independent exploration.

Following your Iguazu Falls adventure, you will fly back to Buenos Aires and transfer to your NCL designated hotel. Guests who depart from Buenos Aires on the day of the tour cannot participate as they will not make it on time to connect with any international fight. This is an overnight tour and hotel is not included.
Fly to a national park on the border of Argentina and Brazil and behold the staggering power and beauty of Iguazú Falls by walking along trails and cat walks that give you extraordinary views of this amazing natural wonder. After departing from the pier, you will transfer to the airport in Buenos Aires and fly directly to Iguazu, which lies inland near Iguazú National Park. The falls were discovered in 1541 by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca and established in 1984 as a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Situated in Iguazú National Park, the falls are shared by both Brazil and Argentina. The massive cascade is made up of 275 separate waterfalls that thunder down sheer cliffs in a majestic display of nature’s power. The falls are nearly twice as high and three times as wide as Niagara Falls, a fact not lost on Eleanor Roosevelt who reportedly said, “Poor Niagara,” when she beheld roaring Iguazu. You will observe this staggeringly beautiful, natural phenomenon by walking a path either above or below the falls. Both trails are extraordinary in their own way.
Then, following a buffet lunch at a restaurant within the park, you will ride an eco-train to Devil’s Throat, which at more than 250 feet high is the single tallest waterfall within Iguazú. Once you are at the Devil’s Throat Station, you will have to walk approximately a half mile on a flat catwalk built over the Upper Iguazu River. Once you get to the end of the catwalk, you will find yourself at a strategic lookout point that rests on the side of the spectacular Devil’s Throat. It’s truly a glorious sight that you will not soon forget. The surrounding rainforest is equally impressive, as it is home to about 2,000 plant species and 400 bird species, including toucans, parrots and peregrine falcons.

Being located on an old magma chamber, Hveragerdi is notorious not only for its abundance of hot springs, which heat the community’s greenhouse industry, but also for its earthquakes.
