OVERVIEW

Explore the intriguing site of Stonehenge, one of the most intriguing and ancient sites in England. Situated on a vast plain, the site is truly impressive - shrouded in magic and mystery. Many believe this sacred site emanates a special atmosphere. Radiocarbon dating reveals this incredible monument was built around 5,000 years ago, during the Neolithic period. Although research tells us how Stonehenge was built, it is unable to tell us what its builders thought and believed and remains one of the most enthralling mysteries in the world! The question of who built Stonehenge remains largely unanswered although many attribute the monument to the Druids. Your guide will provide explanations and enable you to view the impressive stones up-close as well as provide you with some time to go to the visitor’s centre.

Need to Know:

Note: Travel time to/from Stonehenge is nearly 2-hours. As the number of visitors is restricted, there might be long lines to reach the stones. This tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair and are able to make their own way on and off transportation. Guests must be self-sufficient or if assistance is required, they should travel with a companion who can provide it. In Stonehenge all paths are level or have ramps and are hard surfaced, except for approximately half of the path around the monument, which is mown grass or plastic path with grass growing through. There is a slight incline on the return to the car park and coach park from the visitor Centre. Pounds, as some shops do not accept other currencies nor credit cards.
