Step back in time and walk through history on your downhill crater trek. You’ll be invited to visit the home of a local shepherd and enjoy a country picnic. During the drive to the highest mountains of the island you’ll start to discover the natural beauty of Gran Canaria. Your specialized trekking guide will lead you into the Caldera de Tejeda, a giant volcanic crater of approximately 13 miles/20km in diameter.
On your descent down to the little hamlet of La Culata, you’ll visit a shepherd and his family and they will share a 400 hundred year old tradition of making goat cheese with you. You’ll also stop to enjoy a country picnic of local cheese, wine, bread and sweets.
