OVERVIEW

View the most revealing attractions in Dammam and come away with a genuine feel for the local lifestyle. The city was a small fishing hamlet until 1938 when vast oil reserves were discovered, which fueled a boom economy that has never let up. Dammam is extraordinarily modern and most everything you see has been built since that discovery, including Share Al-Hob. Known locally as the Love Market – although that nickname is somewhat of a mystery – Share Al-Hob is a collection of shops featuring merchandise such as jewelry, hand-crafted carpets, art work and antiques. After browsing the marketplace, you will travel along Dammam’s coastal Corniche and stop along the way for photos of the landmarks. The waterfront promenade is exceptionally popular as it is lined with shops, restaurants and gardens. During the evening, chances are, you will see joggers, families picnicking and locals fishing along the sea wall. The setting presents an authentic slice of life you won’t soon forget.

Note: Participants must be at least 4 years of age. Conservative attire, covering knees and shoulders, is required for all venues. Comfortable shoes recommended. This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.86 miles-2.5 miles (about 3 to 4 kilometers), at times over uneven surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and steps at the sites visited; lifts are available. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilize a wheelchair. Infrastructure in Dammam may be basic, and local conditions may be challenging; coaches, guides, hotels, restaurants, equipment, and services are the best available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other ports. This tour does not include inside visits to the mosques. The tour sequence may vary. Bring Saudi Arabian Riyals or credit cards for purchases.
