Countryside Horseback Adventure

OVERVIEW
Take a leisurely horseback ride through some of the most beautiful countryside in the eastern Dominican Republic while learning about the wildlife. You will ride through an unspoiled eco-park on Cap Cana, following a guide that will point out the most fascinating sights. You may see indigenous ferns, usual fruit trees and wild orchids blooming in the dense vegetation. Other areas are more open and offer spectacular views that seem to go on forever. Birds are prevalent and one of the favorites is the black-crowned palm tanager. This avian species is also known as "cuatro ojos" or four-eyes because of its four white facial markings. Multi-colored butterflies are also commonly seen flitting about, lending serenity to the scenery. To enhance your understanding of the natural world, you will learn how horses were introduced to the Dominican Republic. You will also watch some amusing lasso tricks, followed by free time back at the ranch.
